I had to touch it first
So finally, the book is in print and really out there.

I actually got to see a copy in bound form today so I can believe it at last (despite rumours last week that some of the pre-orders had been fulfilled). Folks who pre-ordered (on Amazon or where-ever) apparently get priority when it comes to getting the hard copy, I suppose as they've paid...
Peter's off doing a mini usergroup tour this week and has some exclusive signed copies to give away so if you get to see him speak you may just be lucky.
Of course we'll be signing during Oracle World week as well - watch this space.

Amazon has just sent me an email to say that I would receive the book around October the 23. Its a long wait that is going to end. I probably would never fly to US to have a chance to meet you and have your signature on my book, but, who knows, maybe a day in Paris...

Congratulations! The result of a lot of hard work. I'm sure it's going to be a bestseller!

Mine is on order from Amazon !
Whilst we're on the subject of ADF I wonder if you can clear something up for me. Some people seem to say that ADF is going to be a replacement for Forms - is this true ? I can't see it myself. But as you are on the inside I thought maybe you could advise ?
cheers.
Dominic

Dominic - I hope Duncan won't mind me jumping in and answering this question but ADF is not a replacement for Forms. Many concepts are the same (since Forms lead the way in many respects) but Forms does something specific (and does it well). ADF does alot more and overlaps with Forms but its not replacing it.
Would be interested to see if you can point me to the information that you heard that "ADF is replacing Forms".
Thanks
Grant Ronald

Grant - thanks for that. The information did not come from a particular person at Oracle - just seems to be people guessing (wrongly it seems). However I guess when you see Forms in oracle applications not being used but using OA Framework then you can see where people get the idea from. Also the push for 4GL people to learn ADF would mean they don't have to use forms either.

I've got it and already read half the book.
Even if I do not immediatly understand everything (ADF is a brand new world for me), it seems clear and very well explained. Every step or detail is deeply highlighted.
A kind of "Bible" to thus who want to build professionnal JSP/Java applications.
In my opinion, this is the best book of the year ;o)
