Get Hands-On! Oracle World

Good news for developers! This year's Oracle World conference will have a dedicated stream for developers...so, forget the marketing and the business hype and come and get hands-on at the Oracle Develop classes.
Having been at quite a number of Oracle World events in the past, I am really pleased to see the developers getting some dedicated hands-on time.
These are generally one hour hands on sessions giving you a taster of how you develop Oracle applications. Specifically, I'll be giving hands-on sessions on introducing the business services of the Fusion tech stack. We will also be covering JSF, Swing, web Services and EJBs.
So, this might just be the motivation you need to convince your company that a trip to San Francisco at the end of October will to arm you with some practical experience of some new exciting technologies.
And of course, this is some much more as well, including me presenting on Forms Strategy and my collegue Jan Carlin talking about integration of Forms and SOA technologies.

How much experience would you recommend someone have with java when signing up for one of the java hands-on labs? For example, would I, someone who doesn't know any java and who has limited experience in JDeveloper get anything out of, say, 'Developing Web Applications with JavaServer Faces (JSF)--An Introduction', or would it all be over my head?

thanks!

Its all very "hand holding" - you are not left to work anything out on your own. If you follow the steps exactly it will work. The idea is not too teach you but to give a feel for the tool and technology. I would recommned going even if you are new to Jdev and Java..after all its only 60 minutes per session as well.
Hope this help.s
